Get (another) job:
Getting a part-time job can provide a good additional income. Just make sure you can manage the workload and it doesn't compromise your current job.

5 Non-Scam Websites to Make Money Online in australia

Because I’ve been living on a small income for a while now, I’m always on the lookout for legitimate ways to earn some extra pocket money. Over the past ten years, I have signed up for a bunch of survey websites in the hopes of making some money. Some of them were great and I’m still a member, and some of them were just a waste of time and I never got any money from them.
Since I have spent all of this time working out which sites were worthwhile, I thought I would share what I learnt with my readers, to save you going through the same process. Some of the sites are worldwide and some are only for Australian residents.
If you’re looking for ways to get rich quick, these sites are not the way to do it. But if you’re looking for an extra $10 of pocket money each month, read on:

Pureprofile. This is my favourite survey website and the one I make the most money from ($10-15 a month). What I like about the site is that you earn real cash, not just points which you exchange for cash. If you qualify for a survey you can earn between 50c and $5, and even if you don’t qualify you usually receive 10c. You can also earn 10c from clicking through to a website or watching a video. Once you have made $25, you can request a direct deposit to your bank account, which usually takes 2-3 weeks.
Pureprofile is open to anyone worldwide. However, if you’re in Australia and want to join, it would be great if you could send me your email address so I can send you a referral link, which will mean I get $2 for referring you. Although if that’s too hard, just sign up. I’m happy to endorse them for free.

RewardsCentral. On this site you earn points for doing surveys, which you can then exchange for cash (3300 points for $30 or 10100 points for $100). Each survey gives you between 100 and 500 points, and if you don’t qualify for the survey, you are given two entries into their competition to win $10000 (although after 10 years I still haven’t won yet!). They also send you emails, which give you 10 points to click through to a site. I usually make about $60 a year from this site and MyOpinions combined (see below).
If you decide to sign up for RewardsCentral, the link above is an affiliate link, which means I get one extra competition entry if you sign up through it. Regardless of their not-so-great affiliate program, it is worth signing up for, and is open to all Australian residents.

MyOpinions. Back when I first signed up, RewardsCentral and MyOpinions were both part of a site called Emailcash, For some reason Emailcash split into two different sites, which now both do a pretty similar thing. MyOpinions is purely a survey site, where you earn between 50 and 500 points for completing surveys. You then have to transfer those points to RewardsCentral to redeem them for cash. Similarly, if you don’t qualify for a survey you earn entries in their $500 cash competition.
One thing that they do do differently is that you have a loyalty status, which means you earn extra points for each survey. For example I have platinum status, so earn a bonus of 7.5% more points every time I complete a survey. Again, if you join up through the link above I will receive one extra competition entry and entry is open to all Australian residents.

Swagbucks. I am a newcomer to Swagbucks this year, but I have found quite a bit to like and have already made $10 in Amazon vouchers. Basically you can earn Swagbucks (points) by doing web searches, answering surveys or referring other people. I usually make around 7-50 Swagbucks a day from searches and more from doing surveys.The best part about Swagbucks is their referral program. If you sign up through the link above, I will receive matching Swagbucks up to 1000.
The Swagbucks can then be exchanged for Amazon gift vouchers ($5 for 500 Swagbucks), Paypal vouchers ($25 for 2500 Swagbucks) and a lot more. Because of the huge Amazon postage costs to Australia, I am saving my Swagbucks up for a Paypal voucher, but if you live in the US, Amazon gift cards are a great choice.

Your Voice. This is another site that I only started using recently and have liked so far. They have just revamped their website, and it’s looking a lot more professional. It’s similar to the other survey sites in that you complete surveys for points (between 15 and 50 per survey). You can then redeem these points for vouchers from a number of different stores like Kmart, Target, Myer or JBHifi. 200 points gets you a $20 voucher.
While I prefer to get cash or supermarket vouchers, these vouchers are useful for when I have to buy something new. They will also send the vouchers by email, so you can use them on the day you redeem them. Your Voice is open to all Australian residents.

The first idea that I would like to share with you is becoming an affiliate promoter. Yes there are many people advertising different products and you see all sorts of systems being advertised about affiliate marketing. It is actually a shame though because this truly is one of the easiest ways to get your income stream going.
I have chosen this as my overall favorite course of action because there are many companies out there that you can literally choose from that will allow you to promote their products so that you don't have to have any kind of physical products on hand. You will be able to set up a free website, a free autoresponder, and even be able to do the majority of the graphics editing that you have seen done on editing software such as photoshop.
Please don't get me wrong, this is not some overnight internet rich sensation like many others claim to be. You will not go to bed one night and then wake up the next morning an internet millionaire. You will need to do at least an hour a day on the various promotional tactics that will be explained below. If you can not foresee yourself doing just one hour a day then please stop reading and go on to another hub.
With that being said, let's get going on to the simple tactics to use in full details.

Passion For Niche Subjects

This is a biggie folks. When you are just starting out with affiliate promotions, you must find something that not only just interests you but rather something that you have a strong passion for. Whether that is dog training, losing weight, internet marketing, etc. If you have that strong passion in your subject then it will be easier for you to meet the learning curve and it won't feel like a job but rather something that you will be excited about. But how do you know if your passions are relevant to what others would like to know more about?
The internet is an ever flowing ocean of information, and it is your responsibility as an affiliate marketer to become an authority figure in your topic. So for your first affiliate promotions take the time to answer the following questions honestly to yourself.
1. What do I excel at?
2. What can I teach/do for others?
3. Is there a group that I can find online that feel like me?
4. What are my goals with this?
5. What skills do I possess?
6. What skills would I like to possess?
After you have answered those questions, it is time to find out if you can make money from those answers. Just a reminder though, the object is not to make instant sales but rather make relationships with those who need your help. The money will come and that will be the bonus.
So where do you go to find your relative niche? Below is a list of resources that you may not have been aware of but they provide you with a plethora of researching knowledge.
1. Dummies.com: You may have seen this company with how-to books on virtually every subject matter which you can think of. Well use their research to your advantage. Browse their new releases and check and see if your category is listed within them. You see they have already done the market research and spent a high volume in production of their books so they know that there is a need for that subject matter, otherwise they wouldn't have produced the book for it.
2. Yahoo! Answers: This site can be one of your greatest resources. Think about it, it is a community full of users who go on there to find answers to their problems. So just do a search for a topic that you are thinking about doing and see what problems arise. This site not only will display the results but they also give you the date and best answers as well. So if it is relevant within the past year and you see a lot of comments/answers interactions then you know that there is a need for this and you could do pretty good.
3. magazines.com: This is kind of like dummies.com only with magazines. Same principles apply here. Once you are on the site, check out the "All Categories" listings and find the 4 - 5 stars magazines. Those are the more popular ones and you can even filter your search results by the number of stars received and or the price per issue. This gives you the idea of what users are actually paying for these types of subscriptions.
One last piece of advice here, don't spend too much time overthinking the niche that you are looking for. 30 minutes max is long enough to decide whether or not you should get involved with that niche before moving on to the next steps in the affiliate marketing process.

High Quality Product Selection

This step is going to take a little bit of time on your part and should actually be just one hour in your process. Assuming that you have selected the niche subject that you want to target, it is time to go out and find a high quality and relevant product. My personal favorite choice of products are digital products. I recommend that you look for the same because digital products don't have to have any kind of shipping costs, physical storage space, etc.
A digital product is considered to be things such as e-books, audio recordings, and videos. At this point you are going to want to find about 3 - 5 high quality and semi-popular products to sell. To find these products there are three places that I would say to join absolutely free of charge.
The first is Clickbank. They have just revamped the entire site objectives. But it is still considered the grand-daddy of all digital resource centers. In fact their business model has been "copied" by many and still they are around there. Just go to clickbank.com and sign up and then head on over to the marketplace button where you can find and filter your product selections.
The second is JVZoo. JVZoo is relatively new when compared to Clickbank but if you are thinking about the internet marketing niche, then this is your best option for all things internet marketing. Now remember that the IM niche is considered to be heavily populated but you have to break it down to things like blogging, traffic generation, SEO, Social Networking, Wordpress Security, etc. It is a very broad niche topic with a lot of users looking to get into it. If you do it correctly you can reap some amazing rewards from it.
The third affiliate promotion center you should consider is the Amazon stores. Amazon allows you to become an affiliate for promoting their stuff. The thing with Amazon is that they do such a phenomenal job on their marketing that one product you sell, could lead you into affiliate commissions from others that you had no idea about. You see with Amazon, they always show recommended purchases by others who purchased the item that you may be promoting. If that customer purchases the recommended product (which Amazon suggests) you get the commission. Can you see where that will lead you?
Now those are just some resources (probably the best for what you are looking to get started with) you should sign up with, however when picking your product just remember to check it out completely.
What you should be looking for are "page leaks" on the sales copy. A "page leak" is where the sales copy directs the potential customer to a different link to the website owners address hence taking away your cookie in your affiliate link and then putting it into the website owners pockets. So that takes money away from you. Just be very picky about what you are going to promote. Remember that you are also building up your authority status in that niche so you do not want to ruin your reputation right out of the gate.

Build Your Relationships With A List

On the contrary of what you may have already have heard, email marketing is not dead. It has just become more mobile and you really are going to need to build an email list of subscribers. This can be a pricey venue but it can be done absolutely free of charge. Check out ListWire.com. It is completely free of charge and according to their video on their main website you will never be charged to build a list. Check out them with others and you will understand what I mean by being pricey.
Your autoresponder will be your most covenant tool as an affiliate marketer. There are some super affiliates out there who are making on average about $2.00 - $6.00 per subscriber per month. If you have a list of about 10K with that kind of conversions, you can see the potential in monthly profits.
Understand that you need to give yourself some time to make a name for yourself and those figures that I just mentioned were not overnight income, they have put in the blood, sweat and tears to build to that and maintain their authority in their respective niches. That is what you must do. Above all else Take Action!

Free Website Creation And Domination

So far we have done a lot of steps in getting ready to launch our first affiliate promotion. From niche selection all the way to setting up a free autoresponder. Now it is time to get our website created in order to direct traffic to the offer that you have selected.
There are three things which you will need to have in order to get under way. First one being a graphics imaging editing software program, a webpage editor and of course a place to publish your finished page.
Because you will be mainly having just a couple of pages that you will be directing traffic to (your landing page about the affiliate product/service, and the optional squeeze page) you could possibly just set up a free website. This will suite your starting out needs. Just do a google search for "free website creator and hosting". Then just do some research as to what will suite your needs.
Next comes your editing graphic images. Reality is that Photoshop is the king in this area. Unfortunately Adobe charges something like $800 for it and from my understanding after CS6 there will be no future software developed, rather it will be in a subscription service called Adobe Creative Cloud and will charge a monthly fee of $49/month just to use photoshop. If you don't have that kind of money then there are a couple of free alternatives.
GimpShop and/or Gimp is the most popular (in my mind) alternative to photoshop. It is an open source graphics software that is completely free of charge. It behaves in many was as photoshop and can read .psd images with the add-on that they have for it. The only thing about gimp that I really don't like is that they have not enabled you to edit the text on a .psd image. At least that I have been able to find out.
If you do not like the Gimp alternative, then again just do a Google Search for "free alternatives to Photoshop" and then sift through the results. You should be looking for something that has .psd edit-ability. The industry standard for most images right now is in .psd format.
Finally you are going to need to get your hands on a web page publishing software. Again Adobe has something called Dreamweaver which is extremely powerful (and pricey) software that you can get or you can get a free alternative. There are only two that I am familiar with that I have actually used and they are Kompozer and Microsoft Web Expressions 4. I prefer Web Expressions because it acts a lot like DreamWeaver. You just need to decide what you are going to be doing and decide for yourself.
Now once you have those three things as a part of your affiliate toolbox, all you need to do is design your pages (or outsource) them and publish them to your new website. I recommend that you have a different website address for each affiliate promotion that you do and then link them all to a main website. You want all of your promotions that you do to be able to stand on their own this way if one is not generating the traffic that you expected the other ones can pick up the slack.

Free Traffic Generation Tips For Affiliate Promotions

Seeing how you have your site ready, your autoresponder in the ready mode, and high expectations for phenomenal commissions on your high quality affiliate product promotion, it is now time to start generating some traffic to your site. Before I explain the methodology behind the two tid bits of information, I want to share with you that when I am saying site, I am actually meaning your squeeze/landing page and also your affiliate sales page for the product that you are promoting.
The two types of traffic generation tactics I am going to discuss in this capsule are going to be one Free method and one paid method. Both are excellent sources the thing about it is that with the free method it will take some time to build up the organic traffic where as the paid tactic will give you instant visitors. These are visitors that are targeted as well so it will look good in your serps.
Free Method: Blogging
This method is one of the more popular forms of traffic generation on the internet as of this writing. You see by getting your free wordpress (this is a blogging platform I recommend and will be using as the example) blog, it gives you the ability to create and speak your creative mind on whatever you would like to as long as you are not being malicious in any way. So what you could do is after you get your blog address (yourkeywordphrase.wordpress.com) you can begin publishing your high quality content instantly. There is an upgrade version which will give you more flexibility and control over your site but for the most part if all you are doing is talking about your product and posting related material on your blog then the free version will work just fine. Again because this is free, you will need to invest your time in to it until you can scale it up. Also you may want to check in to getting Google AdSense account in order to monetize a little bit on your blog.
The other form of traffic generation that you most certainly can do (if your marketing budget allows for it) is get into FaceBook Advertisements. Now there are many individuals who will tell you that you are going to blow a lot of money on FaceBook adverts while there are some people who will swear up and down by it. The factor is that you need to figure out if it will work for you. If you do it correctly and know who your target audience actually is within your niche, then you can pretty much pinpoint what adverts will be going to who. There are a wide range of options that you can put in Facebook on your ads as well. It is well worth taking the time to check it out if you are able to do that.
There are many other different forms of Traffic Generation and you may already know some of them or most of them. The thing here is that you should focus on mastering up to 3 - 4 different traffic generation tactics and implement them in your daily routine for at least 30 mins to an hour per day to keep your site relevant and fresh.

You will earn roughly 30p per question, but experienced researchers say many queries can be answered in a few minutes and it is possible to earn good money while only working the hours you chose.

If you recommend your friends you will also make commission on their searches. The payments are small but we know people who have made around £30 in two months by searching regularly. You can choose whether you receive your money through PayPal or by bank transfer.

2. Take part in online surveys

Again, this is pocket money while you're on the internet, but it can be fun too. It is simply a case of answering questions about a particular product or company, or about your shopping habits. Be careful which surveys you use – some are fraudulent. Among the best of the genuine ones is panelbase.net, which will pay between 50p and £3 a survey, Valued Opinions, which pays between £1 and £5 a survey, and Ciao-surveys.co.uk, which pays up to £5.

3. Get paid for social networking

You can make money by keeping in touch with friends, and making more friends, on social networking site Yuwie. Set up a profile, write a blog, upload photos and videos and do what you usually do with any networking site. The difference with Yuwie is that it pays you to do all these things using advertising revenue. The amount you get paid depends on the number of times you and your friends view your pages. If you have lots of friends the views mount up and you can make some worthwhile cash.

4. Recycle your mobile

Have you got a useless old mobile in your desk drawer? Most of us have at least one hanging around the office or house, so make money from yours. We don't complain enough in this country, which is one of the reasons why service can be so bad. However, those who complain constructively have worked out they can even make money through it. Making money online- Expert work in France

I thought it might be useful to explain how expats in France make ends meet. Just possibly this will give you an idea of how you could earn money as an expat and enable you to make the big leap yourself.
I am not concerned here with expats who work in France as an employee of an international company and just happen to be based in France for a couple of years, but with those of us who have to scrape together our own income just using our wits. I have also ignored criminal activities although I believe they can be quite lucrative.
I will also ignore retired folk who receive a pension and people who have sold businesses elsewhere, and can afford to sit around in the sunshine sipping wine for the rest of their natural lives. Finally I have ignored those who have no plan, and choose to slide gently into poverty until they are forced to return to where they came from.
The following are all jobs and businesses run by people we know working in rural France:

• Running gites and bed and breakfast - yes, this can still work well if you do a good job, and have the initial funds to set-up an attractive environment
• European Sales representative for a pharmaceutical comapny
• Website Designer and website publishing, or professional blogging
• Audio-editing
• Tree-felling and ground clearance
• Builders, plumbers etc
• International DJ
• Freelance graphics designer
• Swimming pool maintenance or general gardening - typically for other retired expats
• Maintaining second homes for foreign owners - keeping an eye on properties for absentee owners
• Estate agency (usually involves teaming up with a French estate agent, since it is difficult for an expat to obtain the correct licence)
• English shops / importers - bringing in the staples of a foreign diet - baked beans, marmite, Indian spices etc, and reselling them to the expat community

You can see that expat work in France falls into two broad types - earning money by working in the local economy (eg gardening, gites), and earning from jobs that could be based anywhere (eg internet based and freelance jobs).
Of course, some of these earn more money than others, but all can generate a sufficient income for expats putting in the time and effort to do a good job. Word gets around pretty fast if you are reliable, honest and good-value. I am not aware of any expats also paying a French mortgage from their income. This would make the challenges significantly greater.
Note that there are official registration requirements for most businesses, that your local Chamber of Commerce will be able to help you with. Remember, it can be expensive to start a business in France! I am NOT recommending you work illegally.
I'm sure that across France there are expats doing hundreds of other jobs, but hopefully this gives you some ideas. The paradox is that many of the jobs involve making money from other expats, and it is difficult to see the options available until you live here yourself

I was hired at my last job because I spoke three languages well, and another two they could use too. They said learning HTML is like learning another language so you can do it. It was true, computer languages are simpler than learning the pluperfect.
Once I was trained, I could support foreign customers, and my colleagues could not, so I was more valuable than they were. I got a big raise. If your language skills are going to be needed at work, you can ask for more money than a person who just speaks English. You open your company to new markets, can reach new customers, can translate their website, and so on.
Learning languages is not that expensive, you can borrow books at the library or learn online, and you can also finance a language course with companies like Credit Noble. Just figure out the return on investment to see if it is worth it. For me, it was a 30% raise over the course of a year, so the answer is a big yes.

Make money teaching languages

Another way I made quite a bit of money with my language skills was teaching French and Spanish to English speakers. I worked for myself and gave private lessons at night and on weekends on top of my day job. I also worked on behalf of a few language companies for their corporate clients about to be relocated by their firm to France or Switzerland, and I gave them crash courses before they moved.
My usual rate was $50 per hour, although I got up to $90 per hour. With transportation, it took about an hour and a half of my time to give a one hour lesson, but the money was much better than baby-sitting or tutoring kids for homework.
A friend of mine is teaching languages via Skype, with much lower rates, but in the comfort of his own home, and this is a location independent job, so he can be on the beach in Honolulu and still make money.

Make an app or a language program

This one requires that you have computer skills on top of your language skills, although you can hire out most of the tech process. Many people are looking to improve their language skills, and if you know how to position your product properly, you may be able to sell it to them.
It can be a language app like duolingo,  a small conversation book for your smartphone, or those funny programs that will listen to you talk and then talk back, saying what you just said in another language.
More and more people are traveling internationally each year. The world is getting smaller, and the need to communicate bigger. I can’t help you with the details of how to start making such apps, but I am confident that with proper marketing, there is money to be made.

Freelance translation gigs

Another way I made money with my language skills was translating documents and websites for people. Most of my jobs I got from word of mouth. It is a tough world online to get translation jobs, as many people highly bilingual from lower cost of living countries will be at 10% of what you bid for.
But if you know people who may be expanding internationally or looking for a translation of their manual, work documents, etc. it is a great way to make extra money.
I mostly translated websites, sometimes within the software, sometimes they would send me a Word document with the content of the website and I would translate in Word. I also translated my own writing when I wrote for travel websites and they launched the same site in a new country I spoke the language of. It took way less time as I knew what I had written before in another language.
Usual rates are around $0.10 per word, then you can ask extra if the text is technical, if you have to upload it online or perform another complicated action.
Companies such as 1st Transnational marketing translations can hire you as well, rates are generally lower but they will do all the work of finding clients, following up etc. which means your hourly rate will only be spent translating, not doing back office work.

Actually, there are a couple of websites who tried to take over the PF niche, one is a Ramit Sethi copycat, and the worst is he admits it, the other one tried to tackle the coupon/frugal niche and is pretty painful to read as well.
France is a nation of thrifty people. Our grandparents lived through the war, our parents grew up with rationed food still, they mend and make do, they are not in debt except for a mortgage that will be long paid by the time they retire, they have a cushy pension courtesy of the French government. There may be things to talk about, but people who would listen are far and few. So thanks to my English skills, I was able to start two blogs which generate a nice little side income, and to showcase my reading to any English speaker in the world. RFI has readers on the five continents, it would be a miracle if the same had happened with my French blog.

you've put any effort at all into making money from home, you've

to tell whether or not these opportunities are scams, though, as many
require some sort of an investment to get started with them.

The

They do require a significant amount of time, though, and don't make the
best jobs for stay at home moms. If you can't give your full attention
to the call you're handling you're likely to end up with unsatisfactory

also important to note that you'll usually be working as an independent
contractor, meaning you have to pay all of your own taxes. You're also
responsible for your health insurance if you need it.

Determining Your Potential Earnings

While
the pay varies from one company to the next, you can expect to earn
around twenty five cents for each minute you're actually on the phone.
Time that is spent sitting and waiting for a call is usually not
compensated. This means a portion of your working hours may actually be
uncompensated.

Since
it's impossible to say how busy the call center you work for will
actually be it's impossible to predict an hourly wage. With some of
these companies you're also responsible to log the details of your
conversation, which can take from three to five minutes for each call.

Under
the best circumstances you'll spend about 45 minutes of each hour on
the phone, yielding a net hourly earnings of $11.25. Assuming your taxes
are approximately 25% of your earnings, your net take home pay will be
$8.44 per hour.

If
you were to work a full 40 hours each week of your first month, you
could assume a total take home pay of $1,350.40. After accounting for
your startup expenses, it leaves you with a net profit of around $1,100.

It's a Good Part Time Job 
It's
possible to make ends meet with a job like this, but it will definitely
require a lot of time. It makes a much better option for someone who
isn't physically able to leave the house and go to work, or for someone
looking to make a little extra income on the side. It may also work well
for someone who is supported by a partner and sharing the financial
burden of running a household.

It
is also important to note that there are some call center jobs that pay
significantly more. If you're providing technical support you can
expect to earn nearly twice as much as those working for a general call
center. You may also find opportunities where you're compensated on an
hourly basis regardless of the number of hours you actually log on the
